Franklin Earns Title I Achieving Award
There are over 9,000 Elementary schools in the state of California. Of these, more than 6,000 school are considered Title I schools. Title I sites receive federal funds to help meet the educational needs of students living near or at the poverty level. Out of these sites, only 209 schools in the state have earned the right to receive the Title I Academic Achievement Award.
Franklin School is officially one of these sites! Qualifying for this distinction means that Franklin has demonstrated that all students are making significant progress toward proficiency on California's academic content standards. Additionally, the school's socioeconomically disadvantaged students have doubled the achievement targets set for them for two consecutive years!

As part of this award, Franklin will be honored at a reception and banquet at the Disneyland Hotel on May 20, 2011. This is the second time our school has won this award. Despite the criteria to qualify being raised significantly, we have done it again!
